CMA – Cyprus Music Archive is a non-profit organization founded in Nicosia in 2022.

CMA aims to play an active role in the culture of Cyprus, particularly traditional culture, with an emphasis on Cypriot traditional music, folk poetry, folklore, local history and tradition. It also aims to bring Cypriot traditional music – music practice, as well as research – close to the public, through a series of key actions: 

(1) COLLECTION – RECORDING – PROMOTION: Collection, recording, and promotion of archival material relating to Cypriot traditional music (audio recordings, videos, photos, or all three) found in the hands of researchers/performers or citizens, and creation of an open-access digital library. 

(2) EDUCATION: Organization, facilitation, and presentation of seminars, workshops, lectures, educational concerts, etc., on the subjects CMA is invested in. 

(3) PERFORMANCE: Performance of Cypriot traditional music and poetry, especially of repertoire that is rarely – if ever – heard.
