The 24th Countryside Animafest Cyprus ‘Views of the World’, in collaboration with the 20th Limassol International Documentary Festival, are organizing an ethnographic material collection and ethnographic documentary-making workshop. The workshop will run from 5 to 8 August 2025 in Salamiou, Pafos. The workshop will be taught by Nicoletta Demetriou, ethnomusicologist and director of Cyprus Music Archive (ethnographic material collection), and Elena Alonefti, director and producer, member of the Cyprus Directors’ Guild (ethnographic documentary).
The workshop will consist of twelve teaching hours, a day of fieldwork in Salamiou and the surrounding villages, and a day of hands-on practice on documentary editing. The schedule also includes the screening of an ethnographic documentary, as well as a discussion with a documentary maker, in the context of the Limassol International Documentary Festival.
